OVERVIEW
The World Health Organization (WHO)'s department of Gender, Women and Health (GWH) aims to end gender-based inequities in health for women, girls, men and boys. This document provides an overview of the department's strategy, products and services to promote gender equality and women's empowerment across WHO programmes and management functions, to support WHO Member States in mainstreaming gender in national health policies and programmes and to raise public awareness of the contribution of gender equality to optimal health.
