Online discussions "Women and health - how far have we come since Beijing?"

The department's series of online discussions on "Women and health - How far have we come since Beijing?" is now closed. A summary of the discussions will be posted on this web site prior to International Women's Day, 8 March 2010

This discussion - moderated by WHO and hosted by WomenWatch - was part of the series of United Nations online discussions in connection with the fifteen-year review of the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action - BPFA (1995).

The discussion was to review progress, achievements, challenges, gaps, lessons learnt and good practices in the implementation of the BPFA from various perspectives, ranging from social determinants and health systems to infectious and noncommunicable diseases to reproductive health and violence. A report on the discussion outcome will be presented during the 54th session of the Commission on the Status of Women on 3 March 2010 at the WHO panel on What would it take to make health systems work better for women.
