The Sixty-third World Health Assembly, WHO's supreme decision-making body composed of 193 Member States, will this year have a special emphasis on the achievement of the health-related Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), in particular:
- MDG 3: Gender equality and women's empowerment;
- MDG 4: Child health;
- MDG 5: Maternal health; and
- MDG 6: Combat HIV/AIDS.
