The WHO Global Salm-Surv Strategic Plan (2006-2010)
Please note that WHO Global Salm-Surv changed its name in 2009 to the Global Foodborne Infections Network (GFN) to better reflect the scope beyond Salmonella.
Background
The WHO GSS Strategic Plan (2001-2005) was the result of the first WHO GSS Strategy Planning Meeting in Denmark, 2001. It was developed to provide the WHO GSS Steering Committee with focused direction and specified tasks to be completed. Subsequently, yearly planning meetings have been conducted to review the WHO GSS Strategic plan and it's implementation.
At the WHO Global Salm-Surv Strategic Planning Meeting held in Winnipeg, Canada, 14-15 September 2005 a new five year strategic plan 2005 - 2010 was developed. The meeting was hosted by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), with representatives from all WHO GSS partner institutions attending. The WHO GSS Strategic Plan 2006-2010 includes a new vision statement, a revision of the mission statement and five goals for 2006-2010.
