WHO international review panel's evaluation of the termination of the use of antimicrobial growth promoters in Denmark

Background

In November 2002, the World Health Organization convened an independent, multidisciplinary, international expert panel to review the potential consequences to human health, animal health and welfare, environmental impact, animal production, and national economy resulting from Denmark's program for termination of the use of antimicrobial growth promoters in food animal production, particularly swine and broiler chicken.
