Robust estimate of 5-year change in recorded adult (15+ years) per capita consumption (2001-2005)
Situation and trends
Worldwide, the overall recorded consumption of pure alcohol has remained relatively stable since the 1990s; however, the global predominance of spirits has been replaced by an equal share of beer and spirits. The five-year change in recorded adult alcohol consumption per capita is stable in most WHO regions, with the exception of increases in the African and the South-East Asia regions.
