Child malnutrition indicators: latest situation and change over time

Stunting prevalence in children aged less than five years is disaggregated by mother’s education.
The median prevalence of stunting in children aged five years or younger was 38.7% in the subgroup whose mothers had no education, and 23.4% in the subgroup whose mothers had secondary school or higher education.
The median prevalence of stunting in children aged five or younger suggested a modest improvement between 1995–2004 and 2005–2013 in the subgroup with the lowest level of maternal education (44.4% to 40.8%) and no overall improvement in the subgroup with the highest level of maternal education.
