Median availability of selected generic medicines
Situation and trends
The availability of essential medicines at public health facilities is often poor. For selected generic medicines, availability was only 37.7% and 46.0% in the public sector of low- and middle-income countries respectively. Availability is better in the private sector but also sub-optimal at 70.0% and 71.7% in low- and middle-income countries.
