Road safety

The road traffic death rate by WHO region and income level: Low- and middle-income countries have higher road traffic fatality rates (21.5 and 19.5 per 100 000 population, respectively) than high-income countries (10.3 per 100 000 population). While road traffic death rates in many high-income countries have stabilized or declined in recent decades, data suggest that in most other regions of the world the global epidemic of traffic injuries is still increasing.
