The WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) requires Parties to ban all forms of advertising, promotion and sponsorship by the tobacco industry.

As at December 2012, only 24 WHO Member States had comprehensive bans on tobacco advertising, promotion and sponsorship.
