ANTI-TOBACCO MASS MEDIA CAMPAIGNS, BY WHO REGION, 2009-2010
The WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) requires Parties to promote and strengthen public awareness of a broad range of tobacco control issues.
As at August 2010, only 23 Member States had implemented a recent, sustained and effective anti-tobacco mass media campaign at the national level. Over half of reporting countries did not run a sustained campaign recently.
