Proportion of countries (%) – Number of countries inside the bars
The WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC) requires Parties to regularly collect national data on the magnitude, patterns, determinants and consequences of tobacco use and exposure.
As at December 2010, a total of 89 WHO Member States had nationally representative and recent (2005 or later) data for both youth and adults, but only 59 of these countries conduct regular collection of data at intervals of five years or less.
