    Infant mortality rate is about twice as high among the poorest 20% urban households compared to children in the richest 20%

    94% of the countries studied improved their under-five mortality rates in urban areas between 1990–1999 and 2000–2011
  • Chronic malnutrition in children
    Chronic malnutrition in the Americas are four times higher in children from the poorest 20% than in the richest 20% urban households
  • Underweight in children
    Children in the poorest 20% urban households are 2.4–3.0 times more likely to be underweight than children in the richest 20%
