Obesity in urban women aged 15-49 years is higher in the richest 20% of Africa, the Americas, and Asia, when compared to women in the poorest 20% of these regions
Trends
Obesity among women in the age group 15–49 years has increased in all three regions between 1990–1999 and 2000–2007. The percentage of obese women has doubled in the poorest 20% urban women between the two time periods from 4% to 8%.
