Climate Change Adaptation to Protect Human Health WHO, along with UNDP, launched in 2010 the first global project on public health adaptation to climate change. This series of pilot projects aim to “increase adaptive capacity of national health system institutions, including field practitioners, to respond to climate-sensitive health risks”.
Protecting health from climate change WHO/Europe and the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) are implementing a seven country initiative to protect health from climate change. The project addresses climate adaptation, strengthening of health systems and building institutional capacity in Albania, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and Uzbekistan.
