The Malawi eHealth Strategy has four main implementation areas namely: the foundations work stream, the eHealth solutions work stream, the change and adoption work stream and the governance work stream. The foundations work stream identifies national eHealth information standards, computing infrastructure, national connectivity services, identification and authentication, reliable power supply and information protection as foundations for ICT infrastructure. It also outlines plans for telehealthcare, individual electronic health records and continuous professional development using e-learning. The change and adoption work stream has awareness campaigns, and education and training while the governance work stream involves stakeholder consultation forums and working groups and working with the eHealth Strategy steering committee.
