Registration numbers so far
Total number of facilities - 6 884. Total number of countries - 132. This represents over 5, 300,000 health-care staff and well over 2 million patient beds.
But this also gives clear evidence of the need to encourage others to sign up to be part of this exciting global movement before 5 May.
Please do not register your facility if it has been already.
It is great to see our registrations curve increasing on the web pages but it would also be great to see an increased number of countries represented - please do all you can to support this!

5 May activities around the globe
-
Many activities are already featured on our web pages
For example, in Germany: 'On 5th May 2010, between 11:00 and 14:00, near the staff restaurant, the hygiene team of the Max Grundig Klinik, in Bühl, Germany, will offer the staff to complete a quiz about hand hygiene and avoidance of nosocomial infects with help of WHO's My 5 Moments for Hand Hygiene and Aktion Säubere Hände. The staff will also have the possibility to test with a UV lamp if his hand disinfection is correct. Last year, more than half of the staff took part in the project, it was specially a good opportunity to inform individually the foreign staff about hand hygiene.'
Make sure you tell us what you are planning on or around 5 May by emailing savelives@who.int
