Clean Care is Safer Care meeting with representatives from industry

Fourth meeting – 2 February 2012

The forth meeting between WHO patient safety Programme and industry representatives took place in February 2012 with the aim of finalizing the proposal for the platform and other supporting documents, agreement on financial contribution and the schedule for supporting the platform, and discussing timing and mechanisms for the launch of the platform. -
Third meeting – July 2011

During the previous two meetings WHO Patient Safety Programme had with the industry representatives, the interest to work together to promote hand hygiene in health care facilities was visible. A third meeting was therefore held to have further discussions to take this idea forward. -

National workshop, Argentina - October 2008
A national event on health care-associated infection took place in Buenos Aires in October 2008. This was coordinated by the Ministry of Health, Argentina and the Pan American Health Organization. -
Clean Care is Safer Care core group meeting - September 2008
Members of the core group met in Geneva on 29 Sep-1 Oct 2008 to finalize the WHO Guidelines on Hand Hygiene in Health Care. -
Infection control network meeting - June 2008
This workshop was attended by 28 professionals, including six international experts, four focal points from Regional Offices and 16 professionals from six departments across WHO headquarters. -
Regional technical meeting, Egypt - May 2008
Clean Care is Safer Care was launched in Egypt on 6 May 2008, as part of a regional technical meeting on the WHO Guidelines and implementation strategy on hand hygiene. -
Regional awareness-raising workshop, Rwanda - December 2007
Delegates from 20 African countries participated in this workshop which focused on the work of Clean Care is Safer Care. -

The workshop provided a platform for sharing technical knowledge and information relating to the prevention of health care-associated infection and particularly hand hygiene improvement across the South East Asian region. -
Regional workshop, Costa Rica - March 2007
The workshop was convened to develop a regional strategy for reducing health care-associated infection in Latin America and the Caribbean through better hand hygiene and other improvements in infection control practices.
