September 2014 --In the midst of conflict and mass displacement of 425 000 people, the WHO undertook a nationwide assessment of the Central African Republic’s (CAR) health system. This provided the first complete overview of the functionality and needs of more than 800 hospitals, clinics and other health facilities.

WHO requires US$ 16.7 million to address the health needs

Immediate support to restoration of critical health services, implementation of a disease early warning surveillance and response system, and health cluster coordination.
