Health as a Bridge for Peace - Developing concepts and strategies
After a consultative meeting held in Annecy in October 1997, EHA integrated in its plan of work the reflection on the relations between violence, conflict instability and public health, and mainstreamed HBP in its global strategies for disaster reduction and humanitarian action. A regional workdshop was conducted in EMRO in December 2001 and in July 2002, another Consultation bringing together WHO staff from the field and Headquarters, form EHA and other Departments, as well as external resource persons, was conveyed in order to take the HBP initiative forward.
