Health of migrants
Niger - Maradi/WHO Dr Bwale
|
Advocating for and protecting the health of vulnerable groups have long been WHO priorities. But the health of migrants and the challenges they face have received recently intensified attention. Migrant health was included on the agenda of the 122nd session of the World Health Assembly Executive Board in recognition of the community's great health needs. A resolution on migrant health was also adopted at the subsequent 61st World Health Assembly. Next, WHO will produce a position paper on the health of migrants. It will also organize an informal consultation on lessons learned from how health systems have responded to forced and spontaneous migration in selected developed and developing countries.
