Tools and references for emergency health management
Introduction
Information is critical at all levels when working in an emergency. WHO country, regional and HQ offices, collaborating centers, partners, etc. need information to provide appropriate support during crises. As information gathering is especially difficult during emergencies, it is important that staff in the field have comprehensive, easy-to-use and standardized tools. The department of Health Action in Crises (HAC) has developed several tools for supporting Emergency Health Management, which are primarily aimed at WHO staff and operational partners. This collection of easy-to-use templates and resources are available on diskette and CD-ROM to facilitate use, dissemination and field access, as access to the Internet is not guaranteed during emergencies. Staff travelling to the field will receive these diskettes which include introductory materials, instructions, support materials, and standardized templates.
