Capacity building on humanitarian health action
Effective humanitarian health action requires people with up-to-date knowledge and skills: people who have the competencies for health crises work. Capacity development takes many forms. The most direct form of capacity building is trainings and workshops that allow direct transmission of knowledge and skills.
WHO offers not only this form of capacity building but is also heavily involved in other aspects, including providing tools and guidelines, networking and monitoring and evaluation.
Emergency Response Framework (ERF)
ERF is to clarify WHO’s roles and responsibilities and to provide a common approach for its work in emergencies.
