Tools and Guidelines

WHO provides diverse tools and guidelines on health topics which provide hands-on guidance to dealing with health in crises. These tools and guidelines have been developed over the years by experts in the field of crises and are designed to enable its users to deliver quickly and efficiently in crises situations. They are updated continuously, according to changes in the nature of crises and the needs of the field.

The guidelines provide general information on working in emergency situations. It includes those developed specifically for work in crises as well as those focusing on specific diseases, but which are relevant to the work of HAC. Many of the guidelines are also available in hard copies. Please contact HAC EPC for further information on obtaining hard copies.

The tools provide strategic guidance to preparedness, response and recovery phases of emergencies. They are in general generic but some may be adapted to specific situations.
