Funding health care: options for Europe
European Observatory on Health Care Systems, 2002
Countries need to find sound revenue policies to fund health care on a sustainable basis. This book explores the options available to decision-makers to raise revenue, especially the implications of choosing one funding mechanism over another or, more usually, a particular mix of funding sources. It provides empirical evidence, analyses the development of funding health care in Western, Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union and examines the relationship between funding and resource allocation.
