Cause-specific mortality: regional estimates for 2008

The latest regional cause-specific mortality estimates for the year 2008 are available for download below. These estimates can be downloaded as Excel files for selected regional groupings: WHO regions, WHO subregions, Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC) by WHO region, World Bank income groups, and MDG regions. A summary of data sources and methods is available here. Due to changes in data and some methods (particularly for child deaths), the 2008 estimates are not comparable to the earlier 2004 estimates. DALY estimates have not been updated from 2004, and revisions will await the release of the Global Burden of Disease 2010 study in early 2012.

Regional burden of disease estimates for 2004

The latest burden of disease and injury regional estimates for 2004 are available for download. Estimates are available for mortality, incidence, prevalence, Years of Life Lost (YLL), Years lost due to Disability (YLD) and Disabilty-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) by age, sex and cause. These estimates can be downloaded as Excel files for many regional groupings: WHO regions, WHO subregions, Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC) by WHO region, World Bank income groups, MDG regions and GBD 1990 regions.
