Statistics

:: WHO Statistical Information System (WHOSIS)
WHOSIS is an interactive database bringing together core health statistics for the 193 WHO Member States. The data, which are also published annually in the World Health Statistics Report released in May, can be filtered, tabulated, charted and downloaded.

:: Life tables online database
To assess the overall levels of health achievement, it is crucial to develop the best possible assessment of the life table for each country. The site provides abridged life tables for 1990, 2000 and 2006 for all WHO Member States.

:: Mortality database
The link provides pre-defined tables on causes of death by age and sex for general users. It also includes links to the basic underlying raw data files, together with the necessary instructions, file structures, code reference tables, etc. that can be used by advanced users.

:: The Global Burden of Disease (GBD)
The GBD provides a comprehensive and comparable assessment of mortality and loss of health due to diseases, injuries and risk factors. Global, regional and country estimates are available for mortality, incidence, prevalence, Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) and other indicators by age, sex and cause.
