Monitoring the building blocks of health systems: a handbook of indicators and their measurement strategies
This handbook describes a set of indicators and related measurement strategies, structured around the WHO framework that describes health systems in terms of six “building blocks”: service delivery, health workforce, information, medicines, financing and governance.
International Health Facility Assessment Network (IHFAN)
Multi-agency network committed to strengthening health facility-based data collection and use worldwide.
Service Provision Assessment (SPA)
MEASURE DHS tool used to provide a comprehensive overview of a country's health care services and their capacity to provide quality care.
Service Availability Mapping (SAM)
WHO tool, used from approximately 2004 to 2009, to collect and present basic information on health services: health infrastructure, human resources and services offered.
