Momentum continues to build in countries and regions around the development of country-led, multi-stakeholder roadmaps for improved vital statistics. Taken together, experiences and lessons learned from these HMN-supported country activities will generate the best practice on strengthening civil registration and vital statistics systems, and will produce an evidence base of value to all those working to monitor progress in health outcomes, including the MDGs.
A compilation of these country experiences will be shared with regional partners working to improve civil registration and vital statistics, in particular in the African and the Asia-Pacific regions.
