New Assistant Director-General takes office

Dr Marie-Paule Kieny, a French national, today takes up office as Assistant Director-General for the WHO cluster of Innovation, Information, Evidence and Research, in which HMN is housed. Dr Kieny holds degrees in microbiology, economics and directing research. She was formerly the Director of the WHO Initiative for Vaccine Research since 2001. Dr Kieny will have a first opportunity to meet with the HMN Executive Board during its session on 30 September-1 October.
