HMN made a presentation at a plenary during the 13th International Congress on Medical Informatics held in Cape Town on 12-15 September 2010. It covered key factors to be considered in relation to introducing health information technology at national level. Dr Ramesh Krishnamurthy, Chief for Information Systems and Framework at HMN, underlined the importance of costing health information systems. He pointed out that policy is among the weakest components of country health information systems, and stressed the importance of measuring progress of a functional health information system.
