Book Webinar: Health in All Policies

From Ottawa to Helsinki

The 8th Global Conference on Health Promotion is the latest series which began in Ottawa in 1986 and produced the Ottawa Charter on Health Promotion.

The aim of this high-level conference of experts and policy makers is to support Member States in developing and strengthening structures, mechanisms, practices and tools for policy making taking into consideration the health impacts of the policies.

The conference will be a working meeting where activities and efforts will be considered from the practical perspective, shifting the focus from “what should be done” to “how can it be done”. Models and methods for policy making for the public sector taking health into consideration will be presented and reviewed. Focus will be on using concrete examples of country action to guide Member States on how to collaborate or engage with other sectors in a systematic and effective way.

The conference is co-organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health of Finland (MSAH). The conference is by invitation only. About 800 high level policy makers and experts are expected.
