Meetings of AMDS partners and stakeholders

2012 meeting

Date: 18 - 19 June 2012
Place: Geneva, Switzerland

There were two main objectives of the meeting:

  • To take stock of progress and achievements made on current projects.
  • To share and discuss current achievements, challenges and way forward for the AMDS Network.

The expected outputs of the meeting were the following:

  • Better mutual awareness of the contributions of different AMDS partners.
  • Decision on the procedure, which will enable third parties access to individual transaction data in the Global Price Reporting Mechanism (GPRM).

Background

Strengthening procurement and supply management (PSM) of AIDS medicines and diagnostics in developing countries requires effective collaboration and partnership at global, regional and country levels. The AMDS Network, composed of over 20 partners and stakeholders, has been established to support the PSM systems to ensure uninterrupted supply of ARVs and other medicines, diagnostics and other HIV-related commodities.

The members of the network meet on annual basis to share on progress made on joint projects and discuss/plan new joint efforts.
