Highlights on HIV and hepatitis at the Sixty-eighth World Health Assembly

20 May 2015 – The Sixty-eighth World Health Assembly (WHA68) convenes in Geneva, Switzerland on 18–26 May 2015. The assembly will discuss several agenda items concerning global responses to HIV and viral hepatitis. These include agenda item 14.1 on "Monitoring the achievement of the health-related Millennium Development Goals", agenda item 14.2 on "Health in the post-2015 development agenda", and agenda item 14.3 on "Adolescent health", for which HIV is a major priority.
During the assembly, the Department of HIV/AIDS, the Global Hepatitis Programme, and the Department of Reproductive Health and Research plan to hold a technical briefing on the new global health sector strategies currently under development on HIV, hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections.
The main products and priorities are also being presented and disseminated through the Communicable diseases booth at the WHA68 exhibition hall.
