The 4th International HIV/Viral Hepatitis Co-Infection Meeting was organized by the International AIDS Society (IAS) and took place prior to the 9th IAS Conference on HIV Science (IAS 2017) in Paris, France. The meeting provided a unique opportunity to bring together a diversity of scientific, technical and community interests to discuss current opportunities and challenges for increased prevention, diagnosis and treatment of viral hepatitis in people living with HIV.

The meeting, "The rocky road to viral hepatitis elimination: assuring access to antiviral therapy for ALL co-infected patients from low to high income settings", focused on addressing the challenges of achieving elimination of hepatitis B and C in HIV-infected populations worldwide through reviewing the latest information on epidemiology, prevention, diagnostics and treatment.
