Getting PrEP was a miracle for her, as they had long planned to have a child. Poppy struggled to get PrEP, so she could safely conceive a child with Ted. Despite difficulties, she succeeded, and a healthy baby was born in 2013.

Poppy says, “I see my husband’s HIV infection as a medical condition, not who he is. Early in our relationship, we knew we wanted to have a child together. PrEP helped me stay safe as I became pregnant with our daughter. Our little girl is healthy, and I remain HIV negative. We are so happy that our growing family is stronger and healthier than ever. I am back on PrEP and hope to have another child soon.”
