Fabiana is visiting friends today in El Guasmo, one of the poorest parts of the city, which is home to many transgenders and believed to be a hot spot for HIV infection. She is gathering ideas and plans for the next informal gathering of the Amazonas. The result is an 'Amazon's night' where they will socialise, play bingo, drink, eat and discuss more serious HIV prevention issues.

Doing HIV prevention work was a life-changing process for Fabiana. She had her first encounters with people living with HIV, and she learnt about the vulnerability of her own and other groups.
