Providing care in the community: Rani's story
Gideon Mendel/International HIV/AIDS Alliance

Later Rani met a counsellor who had been living with the virus for eight years. He encouraged her to talk about her worries. "I burst into tears and told him how my husband had died and that I was also HIV-positive. He said we are all in this together; that there are millions infected, not just us two."

"I wanted to work full time for people living with HIV. That is why I joined Seva Nilayam. I love my job as an outreach worker"
