Emmanuel has malaria and is lying outside his house in Ndola, Zambia. Like most children orphaned by HIV, he lives with a relative. But his grandmother is elderly and disabled and cannot give him the encouragement and support he needs.
Emmanuel does well at school and wants to be a lawyer. "Sometimes I make a kite and I escape with my friends. When my kite flies really high, I feel happy. I forget everything that's happened to me."
