A handbook based in the HIV second generation surveillance strategy developed to assist surveillance officers and programme managers in the planning and implementation of key components of a surveillance system for HIV infection and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) in the Middle East and North Africa where low-level and concentrated HIV epidemics currently predominate even tough some subregion are also experiencing generalized epidemics.
