GASP networks have been operating successfully in the WHO Western Pacific and American Regions for several years and a network has been initiated in the South-East Asia Region. The need to consider extending GASP activities to other regions is pressing as the problem of antimicrobial resistance continues to grow and threaten the successful treatment of gonorrhoea. However the sustainability of these networks is a major issue.
