WHO at Vienna 2010
The XVIII International AIDS Conference is being held on 18-23 July 2010 in Vienna, Austria. AIDS 2010 is taking place at a critical juncture in the global response. AIDS 2010 will underscore that the protection of human rights is a fundamental prerequisite to an effective response to HIV.
The host city Vienna acts as a central hub to bridge Eastern and Western Europe allowing an examination of the epidemic’s impact in Eastern Europe, where HIV is driven by serious obstacles to HIV prevention, treatment and care services among injecting drug users, sex workers and prisoners - most-at-risk populations.
