Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health sent to Member States

The World Health Organization's Global Strategy on Diet, Physical Activity and Health document was despatched to Member States and made public on the WHO web site on December 4, 2003 (Thursday). The strategy document is one of a number that will be considered by WHO's Executive Board, which meets in January 2004 to prepare agenda items for the May 2004 World Health Assembly.

The strategy document and a draft WHA resolution can be found on the WHO Governance web site, under Executive Board Documentation, at the following URLs:

WHO secretariat has developed the strategy document through a wide-ranging series of consultations with all concerned stakeholders. This has included formal meetings with Member States (attended by more than 80 countries), other UN agencies, civil society and nongovernmental organisations, and the private sector. Full meeting reports and other information on the process can be found at the following link: Consultation Process - Meeting Reports
