Technical meeting on Enhancing accountability of the scaling‐up for maternal, newborn and child heal
Geneva, Switzerland, 16 July 2010
The main purpose of this technical meeting was to develop recommendations for global partners on accountability and measurement in the context of the United Nations' Global Strategy for Women's and Children's Health (formerly known as the Joint Action Plan for Women's and Children's Health). It gathered representatives of ministries of health, civil society organizations, academic institutions, bilateral donors and global health partnerships, and United Nations agencies.
Recommendations arising from the meeting focused on strengthening country‐led monitoring and evaluation - including investment in country processes for collection, analysis and use of data on human resources for health and other key constraints in the health system for scaling up maternal, newborn and child health interventions - as well as harmonized global reporting.
