Workshop on Health workforce planning model, 13-14 December 2007, Washington, DC, United States of America
This workshop was organized by the Capacity Project, a global health workforce initiative funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). Participants came from USAID, the WHO Department of Human Resources for Health, World Bank, Asia-Pacific Action Alliance on Human Resources for Health, Global Health Workforce Alliance, universities, and ministries of health and labour. The goal was to select a health workforce planning model, agree upon a set of key features, and identify resources for the development of an easy-to-use open source software programme that could be used globally by countries for predictive modelling and health workforce planning. A multi-organization technical advisory team was established to guide the software development.
