Spotlight on health workforce statistics
The need for health workforce statistics is a critical issue of concern. The required analysis for policy action must be based on timely and reliable data from relevant sources. Improved analysis and use of data lead to better health workforce policy and programme decision making, strengthened health systems and, ultimately, improved health outcomes.
Spotlight on Statistics is a series of fact files on health workforce statistics produced by the WHO Department of Human Resources for Health. Each issue focuses on a specific theme related to the collection, processing, analysis, dissemination and use of health workforce statistics at the international, regional and country levels to support decision making for policies and programmes.
