First consultation meeting on a framework for public health emergency operations centres
Working with Public Health Emergency Operations Centre Network (EOC-NET) partners, WHO conducted several research projects, including a series of five systematic reviews and a glossary development project, to support the development of evidence-based recommendations for public health EOCs. Based on research findings and expert consultations, a draft framework document entitled A Framework for Public Health EOCs (henceforth the “EOC Framework”) was developed. The framework document aims to provide guidance on creating, using and assessing public health EOCs.
WHO convened the first consultation meeting on the draft framework on 27-29 April 2015 at WHO Headquarters in Geneva. More than 80 participants from 30 countries and six international organizations reviewed the research work, the draft framework document, the proposed core components matrix, discussed the development of EOC-NET and agreed on some key issues and actions. This report summarised the discussions and agreements at the meeting.
