Meetings of the Committee

Second intersessional meeting, 9-13 November 2015

Geneva, Switzerland

The Review Committee on the Role of the International Health Regulations (2005) in the Ebola Outbreak and Response held its second intersessional meeting 9-13 November 2015 in Geneva.

During the October meeting, the Committee identified ten key challenges, along which it will focus its work including performing a SWOT analysis to identify the factors that promote or inhibit successful implementation of the IHR. This in turn will lead to the identification of expected outcomes and to advance the Committee’s work in developing recommendations. A series of interviews with key informants is taking place and members are elaborating on the findings and the implications for their work.

Member States, Intergovernmental Organizations, nongovernmental Organizations as well as the general public were able to follow an Open Session of the Review Committee live on Friday 13 November 2015 at 12:00 Geneva time. At this time, the Review Committee presented the current process, outcome of the meeting and the way forward.
