WHO proposals for the revision of the International Health Regulations: comments received
In January 2004 WHO distributed a working paper containing proposals for the revision of the International Health Regulations to initiate the process of consultation with Member States and other interested partners on the proposed changes.
In accordance with the request from representatives at the WHO Executive Board in January this web page has been developed to allow interested parties easy access to comments on the proposals submitted to the Organization. Formal consultation with WHO’s Member States took place in each of the six WHO Regions in the second quarter of 2004, after which the proposals were re-drafted and submitted to an Intergovernmental Working Group in November 2004.
