An estimated 20 000 children die annually from measles in Bangladesh
Measles is the fifth leading cause of death among children under five years of age in Bangladesh. Annually, an estimated 20 000 children die from measles in the country which has a population of around 146 million.1
Bangladesh is surrounded to the west, north-west and east by India, and shares a south-eastern border with Myanmar. To the south is the Bay of Bengal.
